Drug addicted dog found in California

When a terrier- mix puppy seemed extremely drowsy after being found in a motel room by the Tustin Police Department, the authorities had questions.
After a test, “Bubba” reportedly had heroin, methamphetamine, and nicotine in its system.

He was discovered once the police had arrested his owner, 40- year-old Joshua West, for possession of paraphernalia, heroin, meth, and needles.Tustin police Lt. Robert Wright told reporters that this was the first time he has encountered such matter. Specifically, he said, “This is the first time we’ve ever heard of someone reporting that an animal has been under the influence.”

The dog is currently receiving drug treatment at an animal care facility an he is expected to make a full recovery. The facilitators are hoping to place him in a rescue organization who will work to find him a permanent home.

It is still not clear as to how Bubba got addicted to drugs, however Joshua has been charged with animal cruelty in the meantime.
